Coronavirus Isn't the Time for Over-training

As we all settle in at home due to the Coronavirus, it can bring up a lot of emotions for everyone. Running and staying active can help, but you must keep your health top of mind. Here are some of my recommendations for maintaining your running during the Coronavirus.

  • Cut your high-end mileage week by 15-20%

  • Keep your intensity no higher than a moderate effort

  • Focus on getting easy base mileage

  • Use running as a healthy outlet, it’s not a time to be competitive

Following these guidelines will ensure that you get the benefits from the exercise without taxing your body so much that you crash your immune system. And remember to stay informed with your local guidelines for leaving home before starting a run.
